Chapter 7:

Bendu sees that the little black monkey on Mr. Seku's shoulder mimics everything the big Mandingo does.  She asks how much that one is.  Mr. Seku compliments her on having an eye for quality but explains that little Torpu is worth even more to him than Mr. Kamara and all the others combined.  He offers them several other monkeys at $15 and $12,  $10 and finally $7 with the twins looking more and more miserable.   Frustrated, he asks Boima and Bendu to tell him exactly how much money they have.
