Chapter 3:


Boima and Bendu walk the four corners of the market.  Around noon, they see their mother at the bottom of a hill.  She is feeling chickens for dinner.  Ma Yatta and the twins use a special Liberian sign-language to talk with each other.  Yatta expresses sympathy that the children haven't found their special something, but reminds them that they must still meet her at the money-bus stand when the sun is at 2 pm.  They sigh.
