Chapter 4:

It's 1pm. The children have just about given up hope when they see a giant Mandingo monkey-seller on his way towards the riverboats.  A small black monkey rides on his shoulder and plays with his hat and he is surrounded by monkeys of all sizes.  A large orangutan follows him pulling a cart with caged monkeys eating peanuts. They call to him in Vai and English and tell him that they want to buy a monkey.  The monkey-seller, thinking they have no money, laughs at them.  The monkeys laugh too.
